The Conrad Group

Founded in 1956, the Conrad Group began by hauling gravel from Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore to Dartmouth and Halifax. Led by H.W. “Jim” Conrad and Fraser Conrad, the company quickly grew, taking on diverse hauling projects and establishing itself as an industry leader.

Conrad Brothers became one of Nova Scotia’s largest rock quarries, supplying high-quality sand and gravel products to the Halifax Regional Municipality. As Halifax emerged as a hub for containerized shipping, the Conrads hauled the first container to its destination, marking the creation of Conrad Transport in 1978.

Expanding into the environmental sector, the Conrads founded SRT Soils Remediation Technologies Ltd. in 1995, addressing the growing demand for hydrocarbon-contaminated soil treatment. SRT utilizes an eco-friendly process called “enhanced bioremediation” to deliver sustainable solutions.

Now part of the Ocean family of companies, Conrad Brothers continues its legacy of excellence under its original name.
